Richie Coy wins it all at Pocono! - By Charli Brown

Richie Coy wrote his name in the record books Thursday night with his dominating win in the CAM2 Race of Champions 200 at the Pocono International Raceway's 3/4 mile oval.

Long Pond, PA - As the season comes to a close for the 2008 SIModified.com Online Racing Leagues, there was only one driver left standing in CAM2 Racing Gasoline Victory Lane, Thursday night.

Haskell, New Jersey's Richie Coy capped off a phenomenal year by winning the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Fall Season championship and the Inaugural Race of Champions Modified Series championship by winning Thursday night in the CAM2 Race of Champions 200 at the Pocono International Raceway's 3/4 mile oval.

Leading 192 of the race's 200 laps, Coy held on to a slim 16 point lead over Buffalo, New York's Jeff Marble for the Fall Season championship in the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series. Marble gave a valiant effort by coming home second for the sixth time this season followed by Charli Brown, Todd Taylor and Chris O'Shell.

The race had just six caution flags for thirty one laps with ten lead changes between four drivers. Coy took home the Dart Heads Pole Award, the KING Design Halfway Leader Award and the Mends Image Most Laps Led Award, while Chris O'Shell won the True Value Hard Charger Award by improving his position by three spots at the end of the race.

Coy now etches his name in the SIModified.com history books by becoming the only driver to win a Whelen Modified Online Tour championship, and a True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series championship in the same year.

This concludes the 2008 schedule of league events, but look for a big announcement concerning the future plans for league racing here in the near future.

Thanks. - By Charli Brown

Just want to take a minute to publicly thank each and every visitor to the website and every competitor in the SIModified.com Online Racing Leagues for their patience with the lack of website updates during the difficult past two months.

Even though there have not been any updates to the website since we posted Stafford Motor Speedway (2008 Versions) by J.R. Franklin, I do want to assure you that I have been working "behind the scenes" in gathering several reference pictures for the Car Download Depot, as well as shooting reference photos for future ASTG projects like the Chemung Speedrome, Seekonk Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

The off season will be an exciting time around here as we post as many new cars as possible for you to enjoy in your offline racing.

Also, look for the League News and Archives to be brought current with the fall season's events in the coming weeks as well.

Thanks for your support of SIModified.com.

Jeff Marble closes the gap with a win at Concord! - By Charli Brown

Jeff Marble dodged another late race tangle to win the John Blewett III/Brian Pack Memorial 100 Thursday night at the Concord Motorsports Park.

Concord, NC - Buffalo, New York's Jeff Marble has been tagged with the nickname of "Bridesmaid" recently in the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series.

Marble has been a consistant second place finisher in every event leading up to the John Blewett III/Brian Pack Memorial 100 at the Concord Motorsports Park, Thursday night.

But his quest for victory came to a close when he dodged a late race tangle between race leader Bobby Ambroceo and the second place car of Charli Brown, who was making a comeback of his own after nearly a month away from competition.

Marble led the final 19 laps to win over Chuck Darling, Todd Taylor, Keith Joseph and Dennis Frates.

With his win Thursday night, Marble closes in on point leader Richie Coy to narrow the gap to just six points heading into the final event of the 2008 SIModified.com Online Racing Leagues at the Pocono International Raceway's 3/4 Oval in the CAM2 Race of Champions.

Thursday night, we'll crown our 2008 champions in both the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series and the Race of Champions Modified Series, which has been a seperate point championship run in conjunction with the Thursday night series.

Richie Coy leads the Race of Champions Modified Series by 52 points over Jeff Marble heading into Pocono.
