SIModified.com to host Twin 100's at New Smyrna Speedway this week! - By Charli Brown
Samsula, FL - After hosting the first annual SIModified Speedweeks at New Smyrna Speedway last year, SIModified.com
officials have elected to host two special 100 lap modified races
this week to conincide with the 2009 Speedweeks at New Smyrna.
On
Wednesday night, February 11th, the second annual John Blewett III
Memorial 100 will begin at 8 PM. This will be an "open
competiton" event for all drivers interested in racing at New Smyrna
and the 2009 SIModified.com Online Racing League.
The top 3
finishers from Wednesday night's event who are not registered for the
2009 Whelen Modified Online Tour will earn an invitation to participate
in Friday night's second annual Richie Evans Memorial 100, which will
be the final pre-season event for drivers to prepare for the 2009
racing season.
Practice will begin at 8 PM on both nights after a short driver's meeting on the SIModified.com Teamspeak server.
2008
Overall champions Richie Coy and Zach Truesdail have filed entries as
well as 2007 True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Summer champion
Chuck Darling, 2007 True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Fall
champion Chris O'Shell and 2008 SIModified "Rookie of the Year" Bobby
Ambroceo.
In addition to the SIModified.com Online Racing League
champions, Riverhead Raceway modified drivers Gregg Shivers and Justin
Bonsignore have also filed entries, as well as two time New York State
and Chemung Speedrome Modified track champion Tony Hanbury.
