Whelen Modified Online Tour Summer Season champion Rex Hoyle makes his
return to competition Thursday night for the Whelen Spring Classic 100
at the Caraway Speedway.
Charlotte, NC - After
a long winter’s wait, the 2009 Whelen Modified Online Tour begins
tomorrow night at the Caraway Speedway for the Whelen Spring Classic
100.
Seven former SIModified.com Online Racing League champions
have already filed entries for this event including defending Whelen
Modified Online Tour champion Richie Coy and True Value/Dart Machinery
Modified Series champion Zach Truesdail.
Making his return to
competition is 2007 Whelen Summer Season champion Rex Hoyle, as well as
Chris O’Shell, Jeff Marble and Chuck Darling who all won seasonal
titles in the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series.
“This
year is shaping up to be the biggest and most challenging year in our
short history” commented League Director Richie Coy. “The
best of the best in online modified racing will be racing in one
division and chasing one championship.”
The 2009 Whelen
Modified Online Tour will visit several different tracks that the
Whelen Modified Tour has visited, as well as several tracks that have
hosted regional modified touring series events.
The Whelen Modified Online Tour will visit thirty different tracks from Maine to South Carolina and West to Ohio and Tennessee.
Practice
will begin at 8 PM after a brief driver’s meeting on the
SIModified.com TeamSpeak server. NPGPro.com Pole Qualifying will start
at 9 PM with the Whelen Spring Classic 100 taking the first green flag
of 2009 just before 9:15 PM.
