Charlotte, NC -
After a long winter’s wait, the 2009 Whelen Modified Online Tour begins tomorrow night at the Caraway Speedway for the Whelen Spring Classic 100.

Seven former SIModified.com Online Racing League champions have already filed entries for this event including defending Whelen Modified Online Tour champion Richie Coy and True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series champion Zach Truesdail.

Making his return to competition is 2007 Whelen Summer Season champion Rex Hoyle, as well as Chris O’Shell, Jeff Marble and Chuck Darling who all won seasonal titles in the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series.

“This year is shaping up to be the biggest and most challenging year in our short history” commented League Director Richie Coy. “The best of the best in online modified racing will be racing in one division and chasing one championship.”

The 2009 Whelen Modified Online Tour will visit several different tracks that the Whelen Modified Tour has visited, as well as several tracks that have hosted regional modified touring series events.

The Whelen Modified Online Tour will visit thirty different tracks from Maine to South Carolina and West to Ohio and Tennessee.

Practice will begin at 8 PM after a brief driver’s meeting on the SIModified.com TeamSpeak server. NPGPro.com Pole Qualifying will start at 9 PM with the Whelen Spring Classic 100 taking the first green flag of 2009 just before 9:15 PM.
