Richard Davidowitz sets the early pace in Jennerstown 350 Qualifying. - by Charli Brown
Richard Davidowitz is the current pole sitter for the Jennerstown 350.
Jennerstown, PA - Holbrook,
New York's Richard Davidowitz picked up where he left off 2007 tonight
in the first round of qualifying for the first big event of the year,
the Jennerstown 350.
Davidowitz clicked off a qualifying lap of 18.478
seconds at 101.699 MPH in his second attempt of the evening and holds the provisonal pole
after night number one of qualifying went into the record books.
"I
wasn't going to do both runs tonight but Timmy (Solomito, his team
mate) was so I just decided at the last minute to go ahead and get both
runs done and see how well they hold up" explained the current pole
sitter.
Davidowitz also knows that having made both qualifying
runs, his official posted time for the pole for Saturday's
feature might not hold up. "I am sure there are some guys that will
beat it" he explained.
Second fastest of the evening was Jay
Neels, with Davidowitz's team mate Timmy Solomito timing in third
quick. Neels still has one more run to make, but Solomito (like his
team mate) posted both of his qualifying times tonight.
Fourth
fastest was Richie Coy with Joshua Guiher also taking the opportunity
to get both his qualifying runs in on night number one to post the
fifth fastest time.
Qualifying resumes again tomorrow evening at
8 PM for drivers who have not used their two qualifying attempts. The
story of the week just might be who holds the cards and who is the last man
standing when the gun goes off Saturday afternoon before the 75 lap
"Last Chance" race takes the green flag.
Can Richard Davidowitz
continue to be the fastest man at SIModified.com? or will another
driver steal away the pole for the Jennerstown 350?
