Richard Davidowitz wins the Shelor.com Motor Mile 100! - By Charli Brown

Richard Davidowitz broke through for his first vicotry of the year Thursday night at the Motor Mile Speedway.

Radford, VAHolbrook, New York's Richard Davidowitz finally broke through to get his first win of the 2008 True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Thursday night at the Motor Mile Speedway in the Shelor.com Motor Mile 100.

Davidowitz started off the night by winning the Dart Heads Pole Award with a lap time of 16.511 seconds at 90.703 MPH and would lead the field to the green flag.

At the drop of the green flag, Davidowitz opened up a sizable lead until the first caution of the event at lap 20. As the leader hit pit road, second place Chris Forster and the third place car of Charli Brown would stay out.

Brown would get the jump on Forster on the restart and lead the next 23 laps to the race's second caution for a spin in turn two. Under this caution as Brown headed to pit road, SIModified.com officials penalized the #1 for jumping the restart and sent him to the tail end of the longest line.

This gave the lead to Zach Truesdail, who stayed out while the rest of the leaders pitted for fresh tires on lap 47.

Truesdail would lead to the KING Design halfway lap over Richard Davidowitz, Timmy Solomito, Chris Rogers and Dennis Frates.

The race resumed on lap 51 with Davidowitz quickly jumping to the outside of Truesdail as the two raced side by side for the lead for the next three laps with Timmy Solomito following closely behind.

Davidowitz would clear Truesdail's red #21 on lap 53, while Solomito worked the low side and would pass Truesdail for second just two laps later.

The race's third caution on lap 63 would be Truesdail's saving grace as he hit pit road for fresh tires.

Richard Davidowitz continued to show the way to the lap 69 restart over Timmy Solomito, Chris Rogers, Dennis Frates and Rick Dutra. But the cars on fresher tires of Charli Brown and Zach Truesdail began to work their way forward through the field.

Truesdail passed Brown's NOS Energy Drink #1 for fifth on lap 78 as the two continued to carve their way forward until the race's final caution on lap 87 for Chris Forster spinning in turn two.

Richard Davidowitz led the field to the lap 93 restart but as the field raced off turn two, Chris Rogers would get loose and lose the third spot to Zach Truesdail, who had Charli Brown and Tony Hanbury in tow.

At the checkers it was Richard Davidowitz over Timmy Solomito, Zach Truesdail, Charli Brown and Tony Hanbury. Sixth through tenth were Keith Joseph, Dennis Frates, Rick Dutra, Mike House and Chris Rogers.

This week, the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series heads to the Jennerstown Speedway for the Fraser Street Deli.com 100.

Timmy Solomito leads the series point standings by 9 points over Zach Truesdail, Chris Forster, Tony Hanbury and Dennis Frates.

Steve Rohner, Jr. dodges a last lap tangle to win at Jennerstown! - By Charli Brown

Steve Rohner, Jr. dodged a last lap tangle between the two leaders to win the Fraser Street Deli 75, Tuesday night at Jennerstown.

Jennerstown, PASometimes, the fastest car doesn't always win.

Steve Rohner, Jr. can attest to that.

Tuesday night, Rohner, Jr. was in the right place at the right time to capitalize on other's misfortunes to win the Fraser Street Deli 75 Tuesday night at the Jennerstown Speedway.

Phil Jacques would win the Earthscapes.cc Pole Award with a lap time of 19.467 seconds at 96.533 MPH. Jacques would lead the first three laps of the feature event before Charles Buchanan would make a move to the low side as the two raced off turn two and down the backstretch.

Buchanan would lead a majority of the event and while trying to hold off a late race charge from last week's winner Jim Windrow, made a move that was considered blocking as the two raced down the backstretch on the final lap.

Windrow would dive to the apron to try and make the pass in turn three, only to make contact with Buchanan and send him spinning up into the turn three wall.

After officials reviewed the incident, third place finisher Steve Rohner, Jr. would be awarded the win over Phil Jacques, Bobby Ambroceo, Steven Dickey and Ryan Curran. Windrow and Buchanan were penalized to the tail end of the lead lap finishing ninth and tenth, respectively.

This week, the Sunoco SK Modified Series presented by NPGPro.com heads to the Waterford Speedbowl for a 50 lap event.
