Richard Davidowitz wins the Fraser Street Deli.com 100! - By Charli Brown

Richard Davidowitz backed up his win last week with another Thursday night at the Jennerstown Speedway in the Fraser Street Deli.com 100.

Jennerstown, PARichard Davidowitz won his second event of the 2008 True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series, Thursday night in the Fraser Street Deli.com 100 at the Jennerstown Speedway.

Davidowitz started off the night by winning the Dart Heads Pole Award with a lap time of 19.248 seconds at 97.631 MPH.

At the drop of the green flag, outside pole sitter Charli Brown would get the jump on Davidowitz and lead the early stages of the race to the first caution on lap 16 for a Doug Chaney spin in turn two.

Davidowitz and Timmy Solomito would pit for fresh tires under this caution, while the race leader Charli Brown would stay out and lead the field to the lap 22 restart.

The race's second caution would fly on lap 26 for the second place car of Tony Hanbury, who spun his Coors Light, Owego Sanitation Chevrolet in turn two.

Under this caution, Brown continued to lead and would again elect to stay out for track position leading over Timmy Solomito, Richard Davidowitz, Zach Truesdail and Chris O'Shell who had all pitted for tires during the first caution period.

Brown lead to the lap 32 restart and continued to lead for the next three laps until the second place car of Timmy Solomito made contact with the leader as the two raced off turn two, spinning Brown's NOS Energy Drink Chevrolet for the race's third caution on lap 35.

This would hand the lead to third palce Richard Davidowitz as
Solomito would heed the penalty and head to pit road for a drive through while Brown stopped for fresh tires and rejoined at the rear. Davidowitz lead the field to the race's third restart on lap 41 over Zach Truesdail and Chris O'Shell.

The fourth caution of the night came out on lap 43 as Charli Brown made contact with the tenth place car of Jeff Rogers as Brown was trying to work his way forward while racing with Timmy Solomito. Brown was visibly frustrated and spun Solomito on the backstretch under caution, which lead to him being parked for the remainder of the night.

Back at the front of the field, Richard Davidowitz led the field to the Lap 49 restart and took home the KING Design Halfway Leader Award the following lap over Zach Truesdail, Chris O'Shell, Dennis Frates and Tony Hanbury.

Davidowitz lead the next 32 laps to the race's fifth caution brought out when Jeff Rogers made contact with Keith Joseph in turn two while they were racing for the ninth and tenth positons and the "Lucky Dog" free pass.

All of the leaders hit pit road with different degrees of strategy. Fourth place driver Chris O'Shell elected to stay out and inherit the lead, while Timmy Solomito (who had worked his way back to second spot during the race's long run) opted for a two tires while Davidowitz and Truesdail took four.

The race's final green flag would fly on lap 86 and Davidowitz would quickly jump to the outside groove and work his way past Solomito and O'Shell to resume the lead. Solomito would also work the high lane past O'Shell and bring Truesdail and Hanbury with him, who were all on fresh tires.

Richard Davidowitz would lead the rest of the way to win over Timmy Solomito, Zach Truesdail and Tony Hanbury. Chris O'Shell would lose three more spots in the race's closing stages to come home eighth behind Chris Rogers, Rick Dutra and Dennis Frates. Jeff Rogers and Keith Joseph rounded out the top ten.

This week, the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series heads to Lake Erie Speedway for the Troyer Farms 100. This will be the event that leads the series into Langhorne in two week's time for the first "Race of Champions Series" event of 2008.

Richie Coy dominates at Greenville-Pickens! - By Charli Brown

Richie Coy broke through for his first win of 2008, dominating the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150, Wednesday night at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Greenville, SCHaskell, New Jersey's Richie Coy dominated the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 for the Whelen Modified Online Tour Wednesday night at the Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

A mid-season rule change allowed drivers from the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series to compete on the Whelen Modified Online Tour, and several drivers took advantage of the opportunity to compete in their first tour event at Greenville-Pickens.

Richie Coy would set the early pace in his Stewart's Root Beer Ford and win the Coors Light Pole Award with a lap time of 20.402 seconds at 92.109 MPH.

Coy would lead the early stages of the race until the first caution at lap 33 for Jason Trinchere spinning in turn one and making heavy contact with the outside wall.

Under this caution, Coy won the race off pit road and lead to the race's next caution at lap 41 for Joshua Guiher, who spun his Goldfish crackers machine out of second spot while third place driver JD Laird took evasive action on the frontstretch to avoid hitting him.

The green would fly for the lap 47 restart with Coy holding off heavy pressure from JD Laird for the lead for the next 24 laps until the race's third caution at lap 71 for a two car incident involving third place Joshua Guiher and Chris Forster.

JD Laird won the race off pit road and would lead his first laps of the night to the Mends Image Halfway Award at lap 75. Guiher would retire from the event and Rick Dutra would get the free pass back on to the lead lap, due to Chris Forster being involved in the incident that brought out the caution.

Laird would lead the next ten laps from the lap 77 restart until Richie Coy made his bid for the lead on lap 87 and continue his dominating run. Coy would hold the lead for the next 26 laps until Laird made a bold move under him entering turn three to retake the top spot on lap 103.

Coy would fight back just four laps later using the same move in turn three Laird made on him on lap 107 for the final lead change of the night.

At the checkered flags, Richie Coy would win his first Whelen Modified Online Tour race of 2008 over JD Laird, Rick Dutra, Chris Forster and Joshua Guiher.

This week, the tour heads to Thompson International Speedway for the Icebreaker 150 and the halfway point of the 2008 Spring Season.

Jim Windrow wins his second of the season at Waterford! - By Charli Brown

Jim Windrow made it two-for-two, Tuesday night at the Waterford Speedbowl in the Town Fair Tire 50.

Waterford, CTJim Windrow took home his second win of the 2008 Sunoco SK/SST Modified Series at the Waterford Speedbowl in the Town Fair Tire 50, Tuesday night.

Charles Buchanan won the Earthscapes.cc Pole Award with a lap time of 14.530 seconds at 92.911 MPH and would get the early jump and lead to the Mends Image Halfway Leader Award at lap 25.

Trouble would find Buchanan on lap 33 as he swerved to miss the spinning lapped car of Kyle McGowan and make contact with McGowan and the armco barriers in turns one and two.

This would hand the lead to Jim Windrow, and he would lead the rest of the way to the checkered flag.

Charles Buchanan tried to carve his way through the field to make up the lost positions, but did not adhere to league rules and was penalized to the tail of the longest line, resulting in a disappointing tenth place finish.

Windrow would win over Ed Battaglia, Phil Jacques, Steve Rohner, Jr. and Travis Hanson.

This week, the Sunoco SK/SST Modified Series presented by NPGPro.com returns to the Stafford Motor Speedway to resume the second half of the 2008 Spring Season.
