Zach Truesdail wins the 2008 True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Spring Season championship! - By Charli Brown
Zach
Truesdail won two races at Myrtle Beach Speedway and the Richmond International Raceway en route to the 2008 True Value/Dart Machinery
Modified Series Spring Season championship.
Charlotte, NC - Owego, New York's Zach Truesdail is making a name for himself in the SIModified.com Online Racing Leagues.
After
winning the inaugural Spring Season championship for the Sunoco SK
Modified Series presented by NPGPro.com in 2007, Truesdail stepped up
to the True Value/Race of Champions Modified Series and won the season
ending 200 lap event at the Pocono International Raceway's 3/4 mile
oval en route to winning the 2007 SIModified.com Rookie of the Year
title.
Truesdail was leading the season opening event at the New
Smyrna Speedway when a last lap tap from the second place car cost him
a shot at the victory. He bounced back strong the following week by
winning the Hooters 100 at the Myrtle Beach Speedway and took hold of
the lead in the point standings and never looked back.
Zach
finished the season with two wins, six top fives and seven top ten
finishes in eight races to claim his second SIModified.com Online
Racing Leagues championship over friend and mentor Tony Hanbury, Keith
Joseph, Dennis Frates and Rick Dutra.
When asked how it felt to
be the first driver to possibly have a chance to win a championship in
all three SIModified.com divisions, Truesdail quickly answered with
"Don't jinx it."
"I was focused on trying to win this
championship, and having Tony (Hanbury) racing with us makes this one
extra special" beamed Truesdail. "Now that you mention that
championship deal, I'm going to do all I can to make it happen. I've got four races this summer to get it done" he added.
Truesdail
will return to defend his True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series
Spring Season title while also running in the shortened four race
Whelen Modified Online Tour, this summer.
