The True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series returns to Oxford Plains Speedway. - By Charli Brown

Oxford, ME - The True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series makes it's second visit to the historic Oxford Plains Speedway Thursday night for the Maine-ly Action Sports 100.

Oxford Plains is steep in racing history as it hosts one of the most famous short track racing events in the country, The Oxford TD BankNorth 250.

Last year, the True Value Modified Series made it's first visit to Oxford Plains Speedway with Kirk Alexander winning the Maine-ly Action Sports 100.

Here at SIModified.com, we also made our first visit to Oxford Plains, as Charli Brown made a dramatic late race pass while hopping the curb in turn two to pass Matt Schaefer for the win.

Ironically enough, Brown is the current point leader for the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series Summer Season and hopes to make another visit to victory lane at Oxford Plains this year.

"I was really thrilled to win at Oxford last year" commented Brown. "I grew up reading about my hero Geoff Bodine racing short track greats like Tommy Ellis and Butch Lindley to win the 250. Then, I was lucky enough to see the race in person in 1990 when Chuck Bown won it over Tommy Houston. For sure, Oxford Plains is a special place."

Practice gets underway for the Maine-ly Action Sports 100 at 8 PM EST with Dart Heads Pole Qualifying set to go off at 9 PM EST. The Maine-ly Action Sports 100 will take the green flag shortly after 9:15 PM EST.
