Joshua Guiher wins the 125 lap "Tour-Type" Modified feature at the SIModified.com Online Turkey Derby.

Belmar, NJ - Saturday night, the SIModified.com Online Turkey Derby came to a conclusion with two new winners in Victory Lane, but a familiar face holding the championship title.

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, New York used a last lap "bump and run" move on leader Joshua Guiher to steal away the 50 lap Street Stock feature. Guiher would recover to come home second with Andy Ticco third, Shawn Solomito fourth and Jason Trinchere fifth. A good time was had by all and the street stock race was a good "stress reliever" to get everybody releaxed and ready for the main event.

Richard Davidowitz continued to dominate qualifying and would win the pole for the 125 lap "Tour-Type" modified finale, but his closest rival in the standings Justin Bonsignore would start right next to him on the outside pole.

But Davidowitz's weekend of dominance would come to an end on lap 115 while racing with Andy Ticco. Ticco was fighting to stay on the tail end of the lead lap and as the two raced off turn four, second place driver Joshua Guiher would dive to the bottom splitting Ticco up the middle making it three wide down the front stretch. Davidowitz rubbed nerf bars with Ticco, then made contact with the front stretch fence.

Davidowitz would rebound and hold on to the lead, only to lose it to Joshua Guiher with a daring last lap, last corner pass as the two raced through turns three and four. Guiher would take the lead and go on to win the feature while Davidowitz (who was caught up on the outside lane) with Michael Pares, Jr. would race to the line for a photo finish for second.

Officials declared Pares, Jr. the second place finisher after looking at the replay over Davidowitz who held on to finish third. Brent Sweet would finish fourth with Jim Rasmussen rounding out the top five.

With his consistant finishes in the top five and his worth finish of tenth in the Street Stock race, Richard Davidowitz would win the 2007 SIModified.com Online Turkey Derby Championship by 23 points over Justin Bonsignore. Third in the final standings was Joshua Guiher, with Michael Pares, Jr. finishing fourth and Richie Coy taking home fifth.

This concludes the 2007 schedule of special events at SIModified.com. There will be organized "fun races" on the Mach-1 Performance server for those interested in racing with us and getting familiar with the rules for our 2008 season.
